CT: Riverfront Celebration

  • February 19, 2013
  • 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Moja Cafe

Registration

  • Special price for members

Let's celebrate on a patio deck in downtown Westport with a breathtaking waterfront view overlooking the Saugatuck River.  We'll enjoy Asian fusion hors d'oeuvres with flavors from around the world, as well as wines and drinks, served in Moja Cafe's vibrant, upbeat urban atmosphere.  Moja Cafe is the newest waterfront gem on the Saugatuck, with a prime location in the heart of Westport.  This is an occasion to be with fellow CEO Trustees and guests, to catch up with old friends and make some new ones.  This is a Celebration you don't want to miss!

NOTES: Parking is available in front of the restaurant.  Additional parking can be found on the 3-level parking garage across the street.  If weather is inclement, we'll move inside with windows overlooking the river.

CELEBRATION UPDATE:
Saugatuck Rowing Club owner and entrepreneur, Howard Winklevoss, will be joining us during our Boathouse Celebration to say a few words. A truly brilliant mind, Howard is a former professor of actuarial science at Wharton and the father of the Winklevoss twins, known for representing the US in Olympic rowing and for their role in Facebook. Howard will address our Trustees and guests briefly about running a club of the stature of the Saugatuck Rowing Club and about Olympic-level competitive rowing. This is a very special guest appearance you won’t want to miss!

ABOUT THE BOATHOUSE AND SAUGATUCK ROWING CLUB:
The Saugatuck Rowing Club began with a renovated railroad freight station on the banks of the Saugatuck River. The club was taken to an entirely new level by the Winklevoss twins, who had become skilled and dedicated rowers at SRC, and their father, Dr. Howard Winklevoss. The Winklevoss family was high profile even before Harvard and their involvement with Facebook. They transformed the site into a world-class showcase for rowing and fitness. The 15,000 square foot facility has a nautical theme that ties together the boathouse, an elite fitness center, a spectacular waterfront dining deck, and an exceptional restaurant featuring delectable, locally-sourced fare. The Boathouse restaurant is "brand new" with a recent remodel and is already a hot dining destination.
