Many companies are good at innovation and many are good at execution, but very few are good at both. Even when companies are good at both, they can lose their way if they are not careful at paying attention to the world around them. Seemingly unimportant events or competitors can derail their strategy and send them spiraling out of control. The strategies that got you to where you are will not necessarily get you to where you have to be to continue to be successful. This event will discuss what it takes to continue to be successful in the world of innovation and execution from various perspectives.
Moderated by Marty Holleran, CEO Trustee, Vice Chairman of Merryck and former CEO of Thomson Consumer Electronics. The discussion will begin with Gabe Leung, Executive Vice Chairman of Novacure and a CEO Mentor with Merryck. He will discuss the challenges facing big pharma and what to do when the traditional R&D model is not sustainable, but a replacement has yet to be identified. After, Linda Ireland, Partner with AVEUS, a leading Consulting Company that focuses on constructive change will bring her 20 years of experience building and developing organizations to discuss the warning signs and the need to drill down to effectively structure processes and strategies to avoid making company-crippling mistakes. Finally, Roopa Unnikrishnan, Managing Director and Deputy COO for BlackRocks Marketing & Communications brings her extensive experience in strategy, talent, and operations to discuss the challenges of developing and rapidly-deploying top-tier talent on a global basis, making innovation and execution sustainable over time.
