PANELIST BIOS

GREG LAND, founding member of IBM’s Travel & Transportation Center of Competence, has led strategy and transformational projects with key clients in China and Southeast Asia. Prior to IBM, he held leadership roles with American Airlines, Sabre, Wyndham Hotel Group and Radius Global Travel Management. At Wyndham, Greg was responsible for extending its international sales and marketing presence in China.

DAVID SCHAFFER, partner in Wiggin and Dana's Corporate Practice Department, represents publicly-traded and privately-held companies on a broad range of corporate & commercial matters. He has experience in domestic and cross-border transactions and assists European, Indian and Chinese clients conduct business in the US. David was previously an associate with a leading L.A.-based law firm. Prior, he established and managed a field office for a Lee Iacocca start-up venture in Taipei, Taiwan. He has an MBA & JD from Pepperdine University, and a BA in History and Mandarin Chinese from San Diego State University.

JEFF SLAVET, an international tax and business consulting expert with 30+ years of experience, specializes in tax planning and consulting, management advisory services, real estate, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate law. He serves numerous middle market companies in the US and internationally. Jeff speaks and writes regularly about international tax, real estate, and business issues to audiences around the globe and has clients throughout Europe, China, Russia, South America, and the Middle East.

HELENA WONG is CEO & founder of Top Trend International, a company in cross-border business development with Brazil, China and the US. Previously, she was President In’tl for Rosetta Stone, a global language learning software firm, and Global President for Oregon Scientific, a Chinese family owned, worldwide consumer electronics manufacturer based in Hong Kong. Prior, Helena was President of Asia Pacific and CMO at Esselte. She’s held management and senior marketing roles with Western Union, Pepsi and Procter & Gamble. Fluent in English, Mandarin, Portuguese & Spanish, Helena previously taught at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
